The Duchess of Sussex's wedding dress is going on display at Windsor Castle from 26th October 2018 to 6th January 2018 and will then be on display at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh from 14th June 2019 to 6th October 2019. What an exciting opportunity this will be for all potential brides to see this fabulous haute couture dress and spectacular veil.
The gown, by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy gave a nod to the dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1954 film 'Sabrina'. This close fitting style was much beloved of Miss Hepburn whose elegant appearance has been much admired and emulated by women ever since.
The Duchess of Sussex's veil was a highly successful homage to the Commonwealth containing embroidered floral images from all 53 countries and at 15 foot long was designed to provide a decorative counterpoint to the plain silk dress.
The entire outfit is rumoured to have taken 3,900 hours to make. Interested brides will want to find time to visit this exhibition, which also includes the the page-boy and bridesmaid outfits worn by Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
